Headed out to the Balti on the "Outta Hand" sunday looking for Mr. White, Mr. Blue and Mr. YFT. Had 74-75 degree water at the tip then trolled down the west wall where we heard there was a bite the day before. We had minimal amounts of bait and birds. About a half hour after the spread was out we had a white window shopping in the spread, then the short rigger pops and a bill comes outta the water but he didn't like our sale on guaco rigged ballys or chugger heads on the short riggers. We lost a nice mahi around the pots trolling around the tip then around 2:30 we decided to head inshore where we heard there was a BFT bite.
We had a nice bite on the planner rod but she came unbuttoned and to wrap the trip up we had a graffer dolphin take a skirted bally on the short.
There were fish caught but unfortunetly not by us. Hopefully paying our dues will pay off in the long run!
