    AC/DC freezer

For your road trips to and from the water, you may want to consider the following:

    http://www.everythingsuv.com/engel-esuv.asp

    I just bought one at
    http://www.hinchmarina.com/

The unit works great. plug into cig lighter for trip down, and then into regular wall socket once ac is available. Mine will hold at least 8 packs of bait.
I expect it will pay for itself in 2 or 3 years, not considering the conveience factor.

Glenn W - what size/model did you get??? I have been thinking of adding one to my boat for this year - I should have room inside my console. Just curious what model it takes to hold that much bait. Even if a smaller one will hold 3 or 4 packs it would be a blessing

I purchased one of these 10+ years ago at an estate auction for $45. Seemed like a good deal to me, I guess it was a better than I thought it was. My wife just didn't understand why I needed it!

birdhunter - sorry, did not mean to derail or hijack your thread -

we basically use what has been said above. Mediums for most things day in/day out. I use selects for my planer rod and on my WWTFB, and when the marlin are around I usually run one with an islander on a long rigger. Smaller baits work best for whites and sails but are terribly aggravating about washing out and it takes a lot of work to keep a proper spread out - more work than MOST folks are willing to put forth!

also, as said above - you can get very good baits retail without having to buy from Baitmasters. I use Bionic Baits for most of my stuff and have yet to get a bad pack. I prefer the Big Game Bait 5 pack selects when I can find them. Check with your local suppliers first, they may let you tag onto their big orders and give ya a break if ya want to go ahead and stock up - just be sure to have a good, reliable freezer and be sure to have a generator ready for if/when the power goes out. Trust me, losing hundreds of $$$$ in bait is not a pleasant thing to come home to!
