Well, we went to visit at another club Sat morning. Started the day off with the bad, hit a deer on the way there. Fair amount of damage done this time. Being the second deer I have hit in the past three weeks while going to the club, this was real bad. It was the BIG doe that I have been watching from my tree stand. Great big old heifer. The day does however get better. On the first hunt I was not to far in the woods when I heard the shooting start. Soon there was one shot close by and I knew it was BeagleMan. One shot is usually a good sign that he made the kill. Sure enough the dogs change their tune, and I knew the meat was on the ground. I rambled around a little in the woods and eventuly stepped on a doe, but did not have time to get a shot off. Called in some dogs to the spot and off they were. One dog from this hunt ran until way in the night and was caught up about 1 am or so. The many races sounded very very good. Second hunt had some good races, but the wind was up and you really could not hear a thing. Fifteen deer were killed in all that day(of various sizes), well sixteen if you count the one I got on the way to the club. BeagleMan swept the big buck pot with his deer, that was good. It is nice to visit other clubs and hunt with good friends, old and new.
There is even a hoof print in the door!!!!!!!
