    very nice indeed Glenn. Yellowbellies and wahoos are toast. I have no doubt that this oufit on a small boat will handle a bigeye, large bluefin and, why not, the blue ones.
    Just think of the fun of doing the meat thing with 16s instead. So much easier to bait 'em with! It's coming, I just know it.

    Aloha amigo, how the hell ya been? I've missed my Hinie drinking buddy.
    No chaffe problems at clip--- I use Aftco roller trollers.
    Knots--- good ole uni has never failed me. Offshore swivel knot with double line on planer rod though.

    On this rig (the 50 Tiagra), it's spooled all the way with spectra except for a few yards of mono backing. I've used a double uni to uni in the past to connect mono (not leader) and braid with no issues.

    I have been fishing all braid on my offshore stuff now for a few years. I love it.

    Captain Brian THE BEAST Harrington has that same setup on his Bridge Pole. Its like his AMEX card....he don't leave home without it.
