This weekend was time to gather our finned friends that spend the summer in our backyard water garden. Each Spring the boys catch and release into our little pond largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie and this year a catfish. We have learned alot about them observing their everyday behavior feeding them and keeping up the quality of the water. With the cooling temps it was time to catch and transfer them to a much larger pond where they will continue their swim this Winter.
Ewing was the first to start the process of getting them into the cooler for the tractor ride down to the neighbors pond.
Nolan is still very excited over any fish he can hook into no matter the size or location.
Even Walt senses that his friends he swims with on those hot summer days are preparing for a departure soon.
We were pleased to see the over all quality of the fish appearing to be healthy as they looked very good after their stay out back.
Nolan was wishing he had on a glove to help with the catfish.
Wyatt was sick and unable to help with the work today but was already thinking of a good place to start next Spring with the replacements!
