Well I got invited to go fishing aboard the Merry Marlin II, with Jackie and Patrick.
Talk about being excited, fixin to board a boat with born killers! The day started out it was a very rough ride out, I've never been sea sick, but came dangerously close this day. Lines in 3 miles off the 90, could not find the blue water, until 100 fathoms, plenty of idiots on the water this day, we saw some freaky stuff. One boat following a charter boat all day long, two close behind him, dragging lines, pulling weeds, cutting us off. Couple of highlights, one boat cut us off, as soon as he went by, POP two gaffers in the boat, in their face! Right after that got into the slingers, it was a blood bath. Had to quit before we caught too many, and wouldn't be able to troll for the big gaffers. We decided to go to, the jigging grounds, pulling lines the whole way, there were three boats on the grounds, they weren't doing nothing, we pull up in the middle of them, and BOOM two gaffers in the boat, in their face! Began jigging, nothing there, fish done been wore out with the traffic that day. Went to another honey hole, first fish on a roscoe jig, gaffer a Mahi. First time I ever seen one caught on a jig.
Finishing totals: 30 Mahi, half gaffers. 12 Triggers. a few sea bass, one whopping 4 pounder. A big b-liner. 15 AJ's.
A very exciting trip, with two young men who know how to fish and know how to put meat in the box. Not sure I've ever had a better time on the water. I look forward to fishing with that crew again.
Cheers,
Ted

Ted, I'm glad you had a good time with the boys and I hope they behaved! From the stories they sure enjoyed fishing with you on their favorite playground...
Thanks for the cool video. We couldn't view it earlier at home due to slow internet and I'm sure the kids will soon show up at the office to check it out.
My parents arrive tomorrow but we'll soon find a way to check out some bottom critters together.
