I just wanted to say a big THANKS to Mr. Box and Baywolf for a very informative and interesting day. While I haven't had a chance to catch one of these bruisers yet, I feel better prepared to handle one if, and when the time comes. We learned how clipping the pec fins off Ballyhoo can make it run truer, how to make/use your own handline for a planer, how far to set lines, how to rig a ballyhoo with monel, how to sharpen hooks properly, how to make the braid to mono connection....the list goes on....If you guys have never met or talked to either one of these guys, they are both stand up guys and it is definately worth the trip! They WANT YOU TO LEARN!!!...A wealth of knowledge was shared by them today and I am glad I was a part of it.
I wanted to also thank Marty and Rick for sharing their knowledge and experience with us today, The seminar was very informative and relaxed. It was great meeting ya'll and look forward to talkiing with you again. Thanks also to Sportfisherman.com for providing a connection to bring all of this together.
So sorry I was not able to make the seminar. sounds like it was a good time, and very educational. With the likes of Marty, sure there was much learned.
IF someone could be so kind, could you please send me a video of how Marty rigs these bluefins? I have a method I use to rig smaller tunas, but not sure it would work on your bluefins. We catch southern bluefin here, but I don't think that they are legal as bait.
Thanks for your time
Nice fish there little bro, however maybe we should have asked BOX about the right footwear to battle gaints in, for some reason i don't think Reeboks would be the shoe of choice. Nice to meet you guys and remeber to leave one on a poly ball for me.
I just wanted to thank Marty and rick for the helpful hints they gave us. My father and I enjoyed the class and hearing all the stories. Marty here is a pic of the grander in our 22foot Mako
