Armed Forces Active Duty

Any idea how many active duty military members we have at least on this forum that are overseas? I was thinking of trying to put something together to send them from the proud posters here on Box's forum. Such as fishing T-s, art prints, a box set of Box's videos, something that smells like fish (that didn't come out right). You get the drift, a fishing cheer package for Christmas. Good idea? Bad idea?

I am except when I'm sittin down! Kidding, well you here about care packages with cookies etc.. going over, what about the die hard fisherman stuck over there. I'm sure they would like something fishing related instead of cookies. I mean don't get me wrong I like cookies too but I would take a good fish magazine or video or shirt instead anytime!

Ya, your right I may be too late for this, I've been busy. I can't even believe it's the end of the year already. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. May have to try again next year(unless Obama yanks em all).

You're just about at the window to make christmas. I imagine if you got things together and got them out the door by Wednesday you'll be ok for most of people at the larger bases. I'm out in the middle of nowhere and usually look at 3-4 weeks to get mail. So that would probably be worst case. Not that I'm saying you need to send me anything.....
Don't have too much longer over here and looking forward to getting back to the family and getting out on the water!! Still hoping to take you up on that offer Box!! Just hope they aren't all gone before I get back!

Awesome idea. Looks like it might be a little late to the dance for Christmas but it doesnt necessarily have to be Christmas to show these guys our appreciation. I say we do it regardless!

Mark you are cutting it close. In the original gulf war I sent a care package(Thermal mug with a lid and other items) to all of my policyholders who were stationed in Kuwait. I sent the packages out the middle of Nov. and most of them got them by Christmas and the rest by New Years. Great Idea Mark. It means alot to the guys and girls over there to know that the people back home care and admire what they are doing over there.

Well, we could try for the 1st part of January. I don't mind collecting whatever anyone wants to send and then I can ship it. If anyone has a friend or relative in a unit there and thinks it would be a good place to send it my ears are open. Just need to make sure they fish. Thats why I was trying to nail down any SFC members and where they might be over there.
