Crab mustard is good
I just wanted to thank everbody for all the support you have given us, it really means alot This is a picture of my platoon, we are the 1st Platoon of the 501st Military Police Company. We are currently running missions in the Diyala province of Iraq, helping to keep the area safe for the people of Iraq. We interact with the local population on a daily basis, if you would like to send a message to the people or donate anything just let me know and I will be sure to get it to them. I miss you guy's LOL, Dan
My buddy Danny's unit.He sent me an e-mail a ways back, and I figured I'd put it up in case anyone is looking to do some good for Christmas.
Danny is the dude in the back row,on the far right. The tall white dude who looks like he could use some sunscreen. In typical Danny-fashion,he's right next to the hottest chick in the picture.
hey kid..that's good ^$%&! Although these kids are really starting to get on my nerves! I think any kind of school supply items and clothing would be fine. They especially love those number 2 pencils for some reason. My address is below, and thanks for helping the little guys, if you want ask your fishing buddies to sign a poster and I will have it displayed in the FOB chowhall for all the troops to see also if anyone wants a to send a US flag to be flown and taken outside the wire here I can make that happen for you too, I know alot of the veteran organizations here love that stuff. We take them out on missions with us then send it back to you with an official certificate that says this US flag was taken out on a mission in support of Iraqi Freedom, if your interested let me know. Talk to ya later @*&^$%!!!

I asked for a cleaned up version.
Alright scumbag for you I will try and keep this clean! The children here are alot like any other kids in there basic needs, they are always in need of school supplies such as: pens, pencils, paper, erasers, soccer balls, things like that. Any kind of clothing or shoes, hats, I actually saw one guy wearing a Boston Red Sox shirt the other day, it was pretty cool. We are trying to win over the hearts and minds of these people and this is just a small part of that process. It would be a huge help, and the people here would really appreciate it Bobby my boy!! Hey and make sure you reserve a spot for me on that next tuna trip you take!!!

The Hardest Part Is,
Actually getting it out the door. Mark my wife and I have been doing this since the war began. Sent during different rotation's. With someone as a "point of delivery", then it get's pasted out. We sent (as an example), nabs, jerky, sunglasses, bandana's,toiletries(mens & womens),gloves, snacks, chewing gum, batterie's (for video games) etc.... This would be a great forum to say HEY GUY'S AND GAL'S, what would you like sent??? What do you need ??? We Love Ya!!!
Many people will suprise you both way's with thier generousity. Count us in. My wife and I are both Vet's, I got an idea how much a letter or a box from home means. Frank,SeaPower

Ya, I'm having trouble getting it together. I may have to wait until the first of the year. I would rather send lmore than less. I too am a veteran and know it stinks being there instead of home! For now lets take care of Box's mission, can't expect everyone to send money or gifts each time their asked. I know I couldn't.
I know if I ask later most everyone here will be good for it. There's alot of big hearts on here. One thing I'm grateful for this Thanksgiving is the generosity and new found friends I've met here. Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!!!!

Newbie on board
Mark that is a wonderful idea!
My niece is over in Korea and she has many friends in Iraq. They don't care if it makes it by Christmas or not...anytime they get something it makes them happy! I personally don't think I know any fisherman over in Iraq but Agitated88 might since he is in the AF and has lots of friends.
What a kind hearted person you are!!!
Thank you for caring!!!

Being a fishing addict and having spend 14 months over there last year I can tell anyone who wants to send stuff over that anything you send will be well received. Fishing mag's, catalogs and all things fishing are welcome and relished. They are passed from person to person and if laid down for a moment they are grabbed up to be looked at by the next person.
Fishergirl nailed it "They don't care if it makes it by Christmas or not...anytime they get something it makes them happy!".
The time spend on patrols, working up for a patrol, required training and all the other stuff it takes to do your job can be intense. You can go from one end of the spectrum to the other in a matter of hours or minuets and when you have off time being able to have stuff to read, look at and from time to time watch makes a major impact on moral by taking your mind off things.
Anything you send will help and be APPERICATED. I can say this from personal experience as I was always digging for fishing mag of any kind. Some of them over there do not have consistent access to the Internet and may rarely receive mail so anything fishing you send will be found by a fisherman or fisherwoman somewhere over there.
Forgot to add this link to one hellofa lady that was recognized by Pres Bush for all the support she had done. She sent my unit over 700 boxes during our 14 months over there. If we needed something we emailed here and she sent it within days. Super lady, that's all I can say. Pictures of some of with some of the stuff she sent us.
I added this like because she has all the connections and already knows where to and how to get all things sent over quickly.
