Thanks for the refresher. For sure a pet peeve of mine when my buds wrap the coils so small it is forever kinked. I don't go often enough to be able to re-rig everything so I re-rig what was hit or needs it...or was coiled too tight and ruined.
On the rubber band thing, I have stopped using them because as you mentioned, they some times sit for a week or two (for me, again because I don't go every other day or so!)...I have been using these plastic coated over metal wraps. They come literally by the hundreds when you buy a toy for a small child (like a tonka truck or anything that is large/bulky). They use these things to secure them to the box and they are a PITA to remove but they are great for coils. They don't rust, they are pretty rigid and you can use them over and over again (as long as your buds don't toss them).
Anyway, if you know somebody with a 1-6 year old, ask them to save you some. Trust me, they will know what you are talking about![]()
funny , i remember at school last year, in fact was about this time last year, that was the first thing we did, before we touched a ballyhoo or tied a knot, was leader coil, and im damn glad we did.![]()

If all your leaders are the same length then count the wraps so you dont have to watch yourself coil. Each one should be the same amount of wraps then you can keep your eyeas on the spread.![]()

Wahoo, thanks for the refresher video. I have a question regarding the the squid rig in the video. What did you use for the head of the squid that would allow you to add the pink hair. Was it an old islander head?
Sorry![]()
