April 26th Fishing Report

Yesterday was a lot different than last Saturday. Last week we couldn't find warm water or flying fish and the weed was old and nasty.

Yesterday we set out for the NE corner but wound up pulling them back a few miles short with warm water, flyers and scattered weed.

a bit later the spread got mauled by peanuts...OK - there's life here, but was looking for meat, not bait... so we moved off a bit and got deep - looking really great lots of flyers, lines of weed forming - damn another peanut, turn the corner and get a couple of gaffers then nothing for a good while, so back inshore we hookup with a 47 lb wahoo - gonna be Good Eats tonight.

We kinda picked at them for the rest of the day, but they are here and it's time to fish

That's a nice chunk of meat you got there. Nice Hoo. It was slim pickins out there, looks like you did pretty good.

Very nice wahoo! A fish like that will make any fishing day a good one!

Actually we couldn't buy a bite on the planer yesterday - tried just about everything - Matanza, Islander, Blue Water candy, etc.

Everything came on top - The 'hoo was on a B/W islander on the bridge rod.
