ONE MORE THING REALLY CHAFFED MY ASS LAST NIGHT WHILE WATCHING THE LOCAL NEWS.....MY GOSH...I SWEAR SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT...

NIGHT BEFORE LAST....NEW BERN, NC....AROUND MIDNIGHT

SEEMS 4 YOUNG MEN .....TEENS.... WENT TO THE NEW BERN GRAND MARINA .....AND WERE BREAKING INTO BOATS AND STEALING PERSONAL PROPERTY.....

SOMEONE NOTICED THE COMMON THIEVES ONBOARD THESE PRIVATE RIGS DOING SO AND CALLED THE POLICE....AND A FOOT CHASE BEGAN.

WELL ONE THIEF,.... DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO JUMP OFF THE DOCK AND CONTINUE HIS FLIGHT FROM THE LAW OFFICERS IN THE NEUSE/TRENT RIVER JUNCTION....

SO HE DOVE OFF INTO THE DARK 55 DEGREE RIVER WATER 30 MILES INLAND FROM MOREHEAD CITY....HE THEN STARTED SCREAMING THAT HE COULDN'T SWIM......

DUDE.....YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME...AT THIS POINT YOU SHOULD HAVE CUT YOUR LOSSES AND PUT YOUR HANDS HIGH IN THE AIR AND DROPPED TO YOUR KNEES TO THE DOCK PLANKS AND SURRENDERED TO PURSUING OFFICERS....YOU WOULD HAVE FACED A JUDGE AND PROBABLY RECEIVED A SLAP ON THE WRIST AND RELEASED SO THAT YOU CAN CONTINUE STEALING FROM UNDESERVING CITIZENS

OH I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE WANNA BE OLYMPIC SWIMMER/ESCAPE ARTIST WAS ALREADY OUT ON BOND AWAITING A HEARING FOR VEHICLE BURGLARY


A BRAVE POLICE OFFICER WITH TOTAL DISREGARD FOR HIS OWN LIFE AND SAFETY JUMPED IN TO TRY SAVE THE THIEF ....BUT TO NO AVAIL.....HE DOVE SEVERAL TIMES TO BLINDLY GRAB THE THIEF BUT FAILED.....WITH THE FRIGID WATERS OVERWHELMING THE POLICE OFFICER HE WAS FORCED TO ABORT HIS RESCUE

THE COLD DARK MURKY WATERS OF THE TRENT RIVER FLOWING THROUGH THE MARINA SWALLOWED UP LOCAL BOAT BURGULAR AND SENT HIM TO BLUE CRAB DEPTH

THE BODY WAS RECOVERED HOURS LATER.


NEW BERN IS NOW ...APPARENTLY ...LESS ONE ALLEGED THIEF


NOW HERE IS THE GIST OF MY STORY.....THE PART THAT REALLY CHAFFED MY ASS.

A LOCAL TV NEWS TEAM DID A HALF ASS AND UNTIMELY INTERVIEW WITH THE SOBBING MOTHER OF THE DROWNED THIEF......SHE WAS DEMANDING ANSWERS....THIS IS NOT RIGHT SHE SAID....WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

WHILE I DO FEEL THE PAIN OF THIS MOTHER....BUT....."MAAM, YOU WANT ANSWERS???? REALLY? ....WELL I AM SORRY TO INFORM YOU BUT HERE IS ONE ANSWER FOR YA.... YOUR SON IS A COMMON THIEF AND HE RAN FROM THE LAW AND JUMPED INTO 55 DEGREE WATER...."....IS THAT A SUFFICIENT ENOUGH ANSWER FOR YA?

I feel for the mother, but c'mon. Her son was a damn idiot. Natural selection at its finest. He should qualify for one of those Darwin awards

I wouldn't have even gotten my shoelace wet. Maybe Mom should have had the concern when her son got out of the arraignment got grand theft auto.

If that were me, my father would have worn my ass out with a barbers sharpening strap to the point where they would have had to do skin grafts to put my cheeks back together.

No mother losing a child should be held accountable for emotional responses following the death of a child. Doesn't matter how bad the kid was...That said...
I hate a thief though and you can bet the mother's loss is as far as my sympathy extends.
News media crews should suffer repercussions for the angle they always try to exploit...that's a pipe dream though.

I feel for the mother. Parents are not supposed to bury their children (even if they are stupid), this just proves Darwin's theory of natural selection.

I feel for the mother too, and even a little sypathy for the dead thief. But grieving mother interviews are not in any way responsable or even interesting journalism.

I feel bad that the other 3 didn't jump in with him. I guess I've lost all sympathy for common thieves, living so close to a trailer park full of crack heads that don't work but steal my s@#t while I'm at work. Gets my blood boiling everytime I think about it. Police can't do anything to stop it either. It's a sad world we live in where criminals have more rights than the people who work to have things in life, only to have them pillaged by drug addicted, repeat offenders who live a better life style in prison than in their own dwellings. Whew! had to vent, now I feel beter.
