I couldn't agree more with Brandon and BTH. It was great to wet a line and once again be embarrassed by something that has a brain the size of a pea. Guess that doesn't say much for mine.
Headed well north up to the 875 line. Little bumpy in the morning but it sure turned into a beautiful day.

Did try a little experimenting with circle hook rigs preparing for the Barta. Got the right combo of swivels and hooks with a quick stop by Joe Shutze the day before and they do run nice. Also tried out Jimmy K's Costa Rican rig and it looked pretty as well.

Unfortunately we missed two Whiteys early in the day. Both came in the spread while I was still getting the dredge ready. Had several other suspicious knock downs with scarred baits and frayed leaders but no hook ups. This crew free spooled like their was no tomorrow one time right down to the backing but no kook ups.

We pulled four nakedes long and on the flats along with a couple of horse behind Islanders and Moldcraft pushers on the shorts. Pulled plastics off and on trying the MoldCraft wide range and a Canyon or two but no takers. Ran a Canyon Flea flicker down the middle WTFB and it did provide what action we saw.

With all the talk of whites around I was sure that we would score and was embarrassed that we never hooked up one of those dirty little SOB’s.

The day was far from a complete waste.

We did hook up once and got Brandon in the chair.

Brandon in the chair with his game face on.

    Matt (JMS) clearing teasers

    Brian (BTH) clearing lines.

Me stickin what turned out to be......

    Brandon's Biggest mahi ever

In casy ou didn't notice, that was a Canyon Flea Flicker hanging out of her mouth!

Whitey, not today. Beat the hell out of cleaning the garage????

    YOU BETCHA!

    Lou,

thanks for having us. the Bite Me is a great rig....i immensly enjoyed running her throughout the day. turned out to be an absolutly gorgeous day on the deep blue. i must admit i was a little disheartened when we arrived back at the waterfront and saw all that laundry airing out on the riggers of the waterfront boats. but i think we will all get our shot(s) at revenge on whitey later this week.

Nice dolphin Brandon, I was glad I could be a part of it - even if it is just in the lure.

Sounds like you all still had a fun day on Lou's ride! So did the Flicker get lost to the deep blue sea on the mystery fish or just heavily trashed?
