Guys please trust me when I say the you really need to be paying attention when out set your planner with this stuff. When you find your finger in the wrong spot you wont be quick enough!!! I damn near lost the tip of my right index finger this summer and still have yet to get the feeling back in it.

Marty's set up works, but you have to pay attention when messing with the 130lb spectra!

That shit will cut your friggin arm off at six knots & 50lbs of drag with a #16 or #24. It definitely needs to be handled with respect. Good point Capd-D.

ONCE I WAS SETTING THE PLANER OVERBOARD......15-20 OUT OF THE WEST.......THERE WAS SOME SLACK IN THE SPIDERWIRE ...........I LOST MY CONCENTRATION FOR A MERE SECOND ....AND THE WIND BLEW THE SLACK BATTLELINE BACK OVER THE TOP OF THE ROD AT THE FORE GUIDE ......WHEN SAID BLADE CAME TIGHT WHEN......THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF "SAW" WAS BORN! IT CUT BOTH GUIDES OFF AND SAWED THE FIBERGLASS IN HALF LENGTH-WISE!!!!!!!!....................IT WAS THE BIGGEST MESS .........I WAS SPEECHLESS....FOR A MOMENT


AS I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO TO SALVAGE THE PLANER AND BRIDLE RIG WHICH WAS DOWN DEEP......WAHOOSKI CAME CALLING!!!!.....I STARTED CRANKING HIM IN ANYWAY AND WE MANAGED A 18 LB HOO REGARDLESS.......THE ROD WAS IRREPARABLE
