Anybody ever get in a funk where you don't want to talk to anyone or even post up. Having that problem now. Reading the board sending prayers to those in need seeing the catches and reading the reports and wishing I were fishing. I survived the subzero temps of MN, got some 14-16" crappies and allot of walleyes. Makes me appreciate the 30-40's here in NC. I haven't been offshore in 4 months, is this what happens to fishermen when they don't get a fix? We've been working on the boat getting her ready, did the outside last year the inside this year. I look at the rods all day this ain't right, they need to be outside in the salt spray dragging. Dredges hanging, squid chains laying there calling me to put them in the water. Will this ever end, STOP THE MADNESS.

february is depressing for sure. especially with highs in the 40's and 20 kt winds. i have been one ornery sob lately myself.

but its all good rick. hang in there another couple weeks. i actually feel sorry for the first school of tunafish that come up behind the S2N and feel the wrath of The Block....poor bastards will never know what hit them !

OK Rick I think I heard this from someone today. Quit your BITCHING! If it will make you feel any better I stopped on the way home today & bought you a brand new paint brush. Man this boat fix up is killing us we need to go fishing bad!

I to am depressed, at least youre not stuck in snow and below 25 temps.



Everyday i come on here, read, postup and get excited. Then i stop and think, i got another 3-4 months at least before i get back on the BLUEWATER.

At least you guys only have about month to go.


It just seems to far, but its okay, cuz this gives me some time to learn new tricks and prepare the arsenal for the FISHYS!

im right there with u guys in the 20 degree weather but worst of all my boss is playin head games with me, offering to fly me down to fl to go sailfishing and backing out 2 days before, i know he means well but its just a tease

Talk about a "FUNK"! In the last 6mos. I've had 2 strokes & open heart surgery! I've been in Physical therapy for the last month & have a ways to go yet, BUT, "My old ass will be ready for this spring"! I have 6 rods in the basement that need repairs for friends & a shitload of rigs to tie up! It's been to friggin cold to go down the basement to work on anything! Fingers get numb + I can't do no epoxying!

I've been in Physical therapy for the last month & have a ways to go yet, BUT, "My old ass will be ready for this spring"! I saw this post and knew what had happened. You got blown out for Tuesday. I checked it and sure enough, the whole week looks bad.

I keep telling myself I'm taking Feb and March off, but its not looking that way. Maybe the next pretty day we both aren't booked, we'll run the Grady for all she's worth.

Who knows maybe we can get Jake to put his hunting stuff down long enough to fish.

#1 gaffman, Had the sugery in Nov. & have been takin things easy since then. I haven't worked a boat in a few years but, "DAMN I MISS IT"! "I ain't a kid anymore & I think I've finally realized that at 56".
