    Question Another wind-on leader question.

Guys I was wondering, when doing the simple wind-on method with a spro swivel tied to the mainline and then a crimped connection to your leader on the other side what is the best way to tie the mainline to the spro? Are you still using a small double line and then offshore swivel knot? Or would a simple palomer knot work? If you are using a double line how long are you making it? I was going to try this method on my next trip and I am just not sure how to connect the mainline to the spro.

    Thanks!

Loop knot to offshore swivel cats paw. Or 4 turn uni. I only tie if main is 60 lbs or under. If 60 or over I will crimp.

I have 80lb mainline and I crimp it to the spro. I used to add a crank on of 100lb test, but I did the tests and a crimp holds 80lb very good.

Offshore swivel knot every time. One side breaks and the other is till good.

I use the palomar knot on many other applications... it has proven to be the strongest in many tests but I prefer the double line to the swivel esp. with braid.
