another Wahoo post

since everyone in the east is posting pics of their wahoo on here, I thought I'd post a pic from Costa Rica. This is from last week. Got got the big one on the planer. The guys wanted to catch a Marlin and we tried for quite a while but nothing so we went to the rock to try to save the day. We pulled it off.

thanks. she was a fatty. the photo doesn't really show that. damn photos always make em look smaller!

we hooked another one that I assume was a hoo on the same planer and lure but the line broke and we never saw it. The 50 was screaming. It could have been a black...... I know they are around that rock because I saw a nice one kicking ass through a school of bonitos about a week before.

the hoos have been going off down here lately. It's been stormy for a week but once it clears, we are back out there.

I used to throw a lima bean shaped, yellow bucktail rigged with a couple of inches of wire there (venteseis) out of a drifting boat on a spinning rod. Small wahoo would grab the bucktail and the mono would throw up a rooster tail when the wahoo would fire up their afterburners! Now that was fun!
