Let's put the shoe on the other foot...What would it take for you to give up your on the water gig?

Lets say you were offered a job driving a desk... $125k a year, health plan, vacation and sick time, weekends off (mostly), job security, 401k (pensions a thing of the past), 10 holidays a year, profit sharing.... to work in an 8x10 box... hell, lets even throw in a window

Have to deal with morning commute, office politics, unpaid OT, HR, corporate and beauracratic red tape, fickle bosses, disloyal staff....

Could you convert to weekend warrior?

Doug- the pay, benefits and all the perks are great, but the added red tape, disloyal employees and all the other crap outweigh the benefits.The stress and BS can put you 6 feet under and won't help you at all. Right now I am trying to look at the big picture..(the picture of a happy life) and I would have to pass on the BS job and be happy with a job that suits the big picture!
