Thumbs up Another amazing Searen video

I don't know how many of you follow Searen's videos (member here on sfc) but I am obsessed with the videos. They are second to none in quality, content, and production.

I often stop by the site (http://www.evolvefreediving.com/Evol...oductions.html) to see if there is anything new and found the following:

    http://vimeo.com/13359799

Keep in mind as you watch this ..... They are FREE DIVING!!!!! Meaning NO AIR!!!!!!!

Truly amazing. I hope to give it a shot one of these days.

My thoughts exactly .... anyone who has been caught down too far and run out of breath can truly appreciate this.

i took their class.....anybody who lives at the coast should try it. Its amazing what you can do on one breath of air. The breathing techniques let me (who am not in great shape) hold mine almost a minute and a half. We had one guy that hit like 5 or 6 minutes on a static hold

I learned that breath hold has little to actually do with how deep you can go, its all about being able to equalize your ears (which was my problem)

I didnt know they had a class. Where can you get info on this? I fear that ears will be a problem for me as well. I can hardly go to the bottom of a pool to get my goggles without having ear issues.

the class schedule is on their website, nothing now but 2011 schedule should be out in a little while. They are super nice Ren is a little intense but Ashley is super super nice. Skilled too!! She's gotten over 200' on a single breath

They teach you how to equalize, its just that not diving even scuba eer, and not really swimming in many many years, i had a hard time.

Bends is about bottom time and nitrogen uptake and not assent rates as breath holders have only the amount of air that they bring from the surface with them, within there lungs, there nitrogen uptake is not as great as a scuba diver at the same depth, but technically yes they could bend, if they were silly enough to make multiple dives within one day with no "surface time" to out gas the extra nitrogen within the blood stream.
Breath-hold or free diving has other and more frightening problems should you over stay your welcome on the bottom!! It's called shallow water blackout, this is to do with Co2 not nitrogen. Because of the big pressure change in the top 30 feet, you can blackout underwater if the Co2 content within your blood is high, this is not a good idea as the nervous system that you do not think about (parasympathetic) then tells the brain to breath and well...........
Shallow water blackout is the biggest killer of free divers, never dive alone use the one up one down system so your buddy is watching you all the time.
