I think you need to go to work for NOAA....
....in Silver Spring, MD. Located 400' from the front door of our 17 story office building in Silver Spring is this little gem. Right up you alley, blue plate and all.

Don't know how many of yall have traveled on the Eastern Shore but the Exmore Diner in Exmore, Va (Glenn, you may have visited this one before) has some good grub. Not on the highway though so if you don't know it's on the way into Exmore you would not see it passing through on RT 13.
