Alaska, I Have Been To The Promised Land!,

Got back a couple day's ago from a business trip (how can you call a trip to Alaska a business trip?) to my all time "Bucket List" place's, Alaska. All I can say is AWESOME! I didn't get to see much of the State but what I did say was truely breath taking. I was given the chance to spend some time in Ketchikan and at a remote fishing camp. The owner took me out for a once in a lifetime sea plane (bush plane) stroll into Town and an air-way "walkabout" through the mountain's. I figured I would be nervous, as I am a white knuckle flyer, but not so. The owner was a retired commercial airline pilot, was very methodical with the pre-flight check's (took nothing for granted). After a smooth take off, the scenery just took over! As far as I was concerned the view just simply over rode the risk. Flew into Town to top the plane off with winter time fuel and of we went again, word's can't explain the simple rugged beauty of that Land.

I was treated to a couple day's and a night at a fish camp that was totally off the hook! Everything has been thought of, to ensure a trip that has no remorse. All the boats are first class and rigged to fish. The accomodation's are "top shelf", food is Chef cooked daily. I'll tell you, the owner has got his heart and soul into everything about this operation.

Didn't get a chance to fish this time around. So that mean's I didn't get to catch my "last" fish, a Grayling. That just give's me the excuse to go back again! I normally don't put my reputation (such as it is) on the line by recommending a place, but I HAVE to make an exception this time. "Sportman's Cove Lodge" out of Kethikan is a 100% first class destination. Check them out on the web. What you see there, is what you get. I am hoping one of these day's to get back there for some leisure time. Capt. Mac run's a tight ship around there, but it's run like that for the customer !!!

I took a pile of picture's and will post some up soon. My picture posting coach, just became a "Daddy" yesterday. Might be best to let him get the crew home first. Congratulation's Tim!!!!! Frank

Did my honeymoon on an Alaska cruise. Phenomenal country.... in the summer. I don't think I'd appreciate the place so much in the winter. It's the second hardest state to hit in my bucket list quest to visit all 50. Definitely want to go back some day. One of my budddies keeps trying to drag me on a Grizzly Bear hunt up there. Unfortunately going would probably end my marriage where it began.

BTW, Congratulations Tim! Best thing you'll ever do.
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
