I had e-mailed Greg Stotesbury and got a quick reply saying that they would replace my OR-2 CLIPS with my choice of the OR-1 or new and improved OR-2 clips. I sent them next day on Friday and when they recieved them on Monday, they sent me out new Or-1 clips and I recieved them in the mail today!
THANKS AFTCO!
YOU ARE A STAND UP COMPANY!
P.S.- I also suggested to Greg to advertise here on SFC- maybe they will.........I hope!
I mailed my four OR-2 clips to Greg late last week.
Received a package today with new OR-1 clips - more than I sent in...![]()
Great response from AFTCO...

I broke 4 of these crappy things this past year. The very first YFT I caught busted my clip. It was a 197 pounder though but I had never had problems with my older clips. Pulling large lures in rough water here in Hawaii so have to have a tight clip or it'll keep popping everytime you surf a large wave. I couldn't believe it when I went through 4 clips and finally emailed aftco and they told me to send then in the broken ones and they would replace them. Problem is, I threw them away after they broke. Guess I should have kept them. Oh well, at least I was able to catch all the ahi's that broke the clip.
Is the problem with these just when using them on riggers? I recently ordered a pair for running flatlines off the stern...yep, when they arrived, I too was puzzled about the sliding "adjustment". It doesn't seem I can get a consistant setting between the two...and to fine tune these things is impossible. I guess I'll know more in a month or so...but I to was a little let down regarding the quality of somthing that carries this cost.
Yes, I would trade them for the thumb turn in a second.
