We left Cape May at noon on Sunday and ran to the South Poormans. 30 minutes after getting set up got a call from a friend that was 18 miles up the beach from us and was 8 for 15 on whites so we picked up and ran up to 45 fathoms inside the Poormans. Of course once we arrived the bite shut down but we were able to catch 1 small yellowfin and 2 whites out of a triple we had hooked right before dark. At dark we ran out to 200 fathoms of the Poormans to drift for swordfish but never had a sword bite. We did have 3 shark bites and put an 81 inch est 225 pound mako in the boat.At first light we ran back inshore where the white marlin bite happened the day before and caught a couple mahi and a 60 pound wahoo right away. As the morning went on a slow pick developed and we ended up catching a 30lb yellowfin and 3 for 6 on whites. Just before noon the white marlin were on the surface feeding on baitballs like a national geographic show but we had to head for the barn leaving them biting.
