Jobu's Breaking?
Anybody have or hear about Jobus breaking during the fight?
If so, where on the hook?
Thanks,
JW

Life is not a popularity contest...
I never fished over there but I have never seen a 7691 fail.

9/0 or 10/0 7691S for me. Use them in both ballyhoo and on stinger squids on the spreader bars. I have seen 7691DT hooks break, it has happened to board member chumtini. Im pretty sure they were 7691DT's, but ill check. He did post up a thread about the hooks breaking. They rusted through and broke when hooked a fish I believe.......

Tuna get mustad love in my book... The sobey design holds better. I do though run Jobu in my plastic for billfish...

Im not a fan of that jobu hook at all. In my opnion the tip is way to thick and has way to much going on. I dont think you can go wrong with a PROPERLY sharpened mustad.

I had always heard (and used) that a more open gap hook was better when fishing natural baits - like a 7732 to get the wider gap with the meat in the way.
and that a narrower gap hook like the 7691S were better used on lures.
But it sounds like you guys dont follow that rationale. and you all certainly have more experience pulling natural baits than I do.
I might have to make a change. Does anyone use the 7732 with natural baits?
