Matt's not a member YET, but here is the story he told me...

They were anchored on the midnight lump chunkin yellowfins. The lump is 18 miles southwest of Venice. There were a lot of other boats doing the same thing as is usual on a nice day. One of the other boats radioed having the biggest mako they had ever seen swim by and that boat was abot 100 yards off. Matt continued chunkin while Bob Kinney rigged a mako bait. Matts 50 goes off like a tuna fish and that monster goes airborne and starts haulin ass the other direction. They dropped the anchor ball over and gave chase. It jumped 10 times, and came to the boat. They shot it with 000 buck and stuck it with a flying gaff and put her on the boat...

I put about a dozen on the boat without the 12 gauge when I was a mate and they tore the boat to pieces Now 1 shot to the head and hello mako steaks...

Ahhh nothing like adding a little led to thier diet to chill them out, we use a bang stick with 000....game over....usually, made the mistake of banging one before we hit it with the flyer once.....rookie mistake, blew right through the wire....bye bye , so now its stick em, bang em and tie em off, mean sons of bitches are sometimes still twitchin 2 hours later.
