Is it just me or was the 3:00 pm stop your engine and observe a moment of silience for Memorial Day during the race the coolest thing I have ever seen? You have got to love Nascar and the values, we pray and sing the national anthem, and if you don't like it, don't watch. I'm all in!

I didn't watch it, but that is awesome they did that.

NASCAR races were the last sporting event where you could get through the national anthem before the screaming started. At any other event I've seen or attended, by the time they got to the "rocket's red glare" the crowd was howling.

Sadly, I don't think NASCAR fans are that respectful of the anthem anymore either. But they were the last holdout, and are still better than the rest.

I didn't get to see the race but was listening on the radio. The moment of silence gave me chills to think of those who gave all for us to be free.

Awesome! We owe everything to millions of men and women we will never know. It sickens me to see so many of our fellow citizens who do not get it. My 7 and 5 year old know exactly what Memorial Day is all about, and I don't mean hot dogs and a day off of school.

I ALWAYS WONDERED WHY FISHING TOURNAMENTS OMIT EVEN THE NATIONAL ANTHEM IN THE MORNING BEFORE STARTING TIME....AT LEAST I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS
