5K and a 4th Fishing Report

We headed out on a mission - Hero or Zero - Gonna find a bill or go for a boat ride...

It was a beautiful ride out - something we haven't seen so far this year - not a drop on the curtains and the bow was dry for the whole ride out...

Saw some great signs of life in 20 Fa - dolphins (mammals), flying fish and decent weed lines - but this wasn't a meat trip... so we kept running

we put lines in about 0700 in 70 fa and pointed deep... Some scattered weeds and some flyers, but no action... Soon we are in 100 Fa - the weed is a bit thicker and more flyers - this is starting to look good.

We kept pushing deeper and in about 120 Fa we find birds working, skipjacks busting and a true Discovery Channel moment - a couple of bait balls getting worked over by something - everything is looking great... Work the area for a while, but not even a knockdown.

we worked out way back to another area - found a nice rip lots of heavy weed - pick up a small mahi and sling another off... we keep working the area without much luck.

Come across birds working again - more skippies - this time one decides to take a naked circle rig...

a little later a sail came up like a teenage girl - just a little tug and no joy... dropped back but wouldn't take the bait.

added a couple more small mahi and called it a day...

Overall a nice day on the water - No where I'd rather be on the 4th...
