54 lb flathead 6-02-09

BeagleMan, George, and I drifted Lake Moultrie Tuesday night. Perch was the bait of choice. Fish bit best in 45 foot water. We landed 6 channels, 6 blues and 1 BIG ole flathead. The FlatHead weighed 54 pounds and had a two pound perch in his belly.

Nice flattie! We trolled up a few this evening but not nearly as big.

Any chance you took a measurement on that beast? I caught one a couple years ago about that weight but didn't get a tape on it before the release.

Wouldn't it be great if instead of those lame "reality" shows on tv we had lo country documentaries by the beagle people?
Thanks for yet another great installment Beaglewoman.

Best Catch: Beagleman
Thats BeagleMan in the guy harvey shirt. And that is one of his God ones! BeagleMan has caught more fish in that shirt than most will ever see. He has had that shirt 9 years 10 months and three days. Got it during our honeymoon trip to the keys. And, I am just wondering how nice a shirt should you wear to clean fish?

We donated a mess of fish for a neighborhood fish fry this evening. All we have to do is show up and eat. Thats how I best like fish cooked!!!

No one has commented on the large perch that we took out the flatHead. It weighd probly two pounds!!
