5 OZ. HEAVY REDHEAD HOO MACHINE PROTOTYPES
These are the first Redheads powder coated, 5 OZ. all lead Hoo Machines, with red eyes with flash and silver eyes with a lateral red hair stripe and a 3/8" diameter deep bore butt.
These will be available without the scales as the consensus was to "loose the scale" effect. The next generation for sale will be a smooth head. The head dimensions are identical to the regular Hoo Machines. The butt is a little longer and wider for the bore.
Should have about 10 powder coat colors and all the hair colors and flash options up in a month or so.
Im really pleased with these heads, as the will work most excellent for the deep planer.
For those Capt's and crew that were at Marty's wing-a-thon this is the plain lead head I watched many people pick up and ponder.
Have not set a price yet, till we get the smooth heads in all colors done and in. You can always pre-order..
Almost forgot.....
The Head has an aluminum tube in it that will accept a piece of .125" O.D. chafe tube. Those photos (last 3) show the chafe tubing and that is 300# test Jinkai Fluorocarbon leader material so 200# or 220# ..no problem.

I sorta like in an odd way the scales on these heads, yet most everyone that touched them asked if they are available in a smooth head..whatdya think?
The mold is made so it's available..offer both?
OHH and by the way the hole is offset, so it can naturally help the hoo run straight via the keel weighting created by the offset leader hole..fyi

love the offset on the heads. that has been my only problem with the JAG style heads is that they are sometimes difficult to get to run correctly

Tim
Make em available both ways... One of my sneaky tricks is taking rough heads off my production lines for my own use. I believe the uneven texture provides more turbulence. Others had the same idea and I had quite a trade for raw unfinished or even "seconds" heads. That being said others wanted the high polish look good heads... So do em both...

Sit down Shut up And fish
Those are sweet, when are they avail? I agree the hammered head is nice, but a head on a ballyhoo doesn't have scales, so maybe a smooth head would be nice too.

Stop staring at my Avatar.
hammered vs smooth heads
i think the hammered heads would be perfect for wahoo, yft, and dolphin. but i like my bft lures to have as little turbulence behind them as possible, i like a nice clean wake behind a pretty swimming bally.
very nice work

Zar, I think you hit it dead on, however, everyone has a preference and the smooth head has certainly been a proven performer.
Offering both is no problemo...
