5/16 & 5/17 mahi mania

Mahi Everywhere!!!
5/16 caught about 20 and kept 12. Also had a couple of blackfin tuna and a king. Rough- we got our butts kicked out there.
5/17 (today) Weather report was way off but in our favor today for a change!! It was supposed to be nasty but ended up beautiful!! Jumped off a small white marlin 1st thing and then it was mahi the rest of the day- we lost count after 20 and tossed most of them back. cool pic huh! caught them 2 at a time all day everywhere we went.
We were fishing the farout shootout meatfish tournament out of Ocean Isle Beach and just couldn't find the tuna or wahoo. Oh well, we had 2 great days on the water!

Nice man...sorry you didnt get into the wahoos and tuna but hell looks like you didnt have a bad catch after all.

I hear ya hotrod. Looks like ya'll had a good day of fishing, I'm sure you earned it out there yesterday. It'll be interesting to see if anybody tops the leaders this weekend, the tuna are gettin scarce down here .

Gradywhite I always pull in real tight behind ships- caught a lot of tuna right in their propwash
Slip - I just hold a tennis ball right above the camera lens- works like a charm
