4 Ft of Whoop Ass

Just finished my Planer rod and thought I'd show it off.
80 lb bent butt w/80 lb stubby blank Aftco Super Hevy Duty rollers.

Close-up of the wraps.
Cant wait to try this out on some wahoo.

Working on a BFT 80lb stand-up also.
Don't know if I'm man enough to try it stand-up - we'll see.

Really nice work there. I would love to build a big off shore rod. To date i have only built 1 surf rod and about three fresh water rods. Question is the top on the wire line rod a swivel top?

It's a 42" or 43" blank. Pruchased as a IGFA 80 Stubby. Static test? -- For guide spacing or spine finding? No swivel top. Couldn't afford that option. I plan to fish this using the "depth charge" method like a down rigger - Send down the baits connected to conventional rig using clip w/a release rubber band. The planer never comes up, just send down another bait.

The pictures are big. I had to give the about 20 seconds to load. If I scrolled down to quick before they loaded they went blank
