4/7 Spring Break Mtn Trout

The boys talked their mom into taking them to hike a trail long side a trout stream looking for natives in the Shenandoah Park. They are greeted by the guys driving the VDGIF stock truck, Nolan ask if they stocked and with the YES he said "this is better than christmas". Nolan used his 3wt fly rod while Wyatt and Ewing used their spinning tackle fishing for 4 hours catching between 75-100 keeping some for a limit to eat. They had the place to themselves the whole time working on their skills on the stream. Have to give myself credit for starting them young and Karen credit for the many opportunities she provides. Its a great thing that the whole family really enjoys the outdoors so much! A few pictures from Karens cell to enjoy.

Hard to beat that! It's nice to see a family enjoy the outdoors- especially with the fly rod!

BTH i'm thinking thats a german brown in the picture with the crocs....wait a second, crocs?...oh never mind...they look comfortable...
