4-21-09 ShellCracker report (or lack of)

Well, not much to report from this trip... Caught about twenty five bream, four shellcrackers, one Molly and one catfish. Catch not worthy of cooler shot. The molly was a nice one though.

It took me a while to post this report because we had a death in the family. I am sure some of you have heard of the explosion in Norway, This took the life of our cousin Micky Williams.

Rest in peace Micky, we will miss you.

    Great stuff BW!

I could go all day without catching a fish with scenery like that. Cruising through those cypress shaded swamp waters will cure what ails ya. Thanks for sharing the pics.
Sorry for your loss...Godspeed to Mickey.

Question-is the first pic what you are calling a molly? Same as a warmouth?

Yes, that is the Molly / Warmouth.

I do enjoy the scenery there. To me it must be the most beautiful place on earth.

Sorry for your family's loss, beaglewoman.

Great pictures! Nice dang warmouth too. Funny how those fish will knock the tar out of your bait, and then just give up when you start reeling 'em in. Where ya'll fishing out of in those pictures? Looks like a place I know around Jack's Creek...

Lo country is about as pretty as it gets. Thanks BW for bringing it to us.

    Do y'all use bream busters?

Jacks creek is on the same body of water. Not sure how far from where we were fishing.

I use a fly rod with a small spinning reel on it most of the time when I fish for the scale fish.

Here is some pics of cypress trees I started from seeds taken from the trees where I fish. The little fellows just starting to grow are some I started two and a half weeks ago. The tallest ones are two years old now.
