    4-13-10 stumphole

Fished stumphole today and had a pretty good day. Came home with 60, mixed bag of Crappie, shellcrackers, bream, Mollies, and sand trout. Also had one Bass, one catfish, and some white perch.

The weather was very nice, and there were a good number of people out on the water.

Nice pictures Beaglewoman. Our skinny computer guru Jer would love to catch a catfish like that. How often do you run up on somebodies still in the swamps.

Box, we did not name it, That lake was built during eithr WWI or WWII. Encompasses roughly 100,000 acres. Lake Marion was needed quickly and no timber was cut, whereas Lake Moultrie there was more time spent on building it and they cleaned up the timber before bringing up the water. I would imagine stumphole got its name for the many stumps in the area. There are a lot more under the water than just the ones you see sticking out the water. It is very easy to run up on them with the boat if you are not very careful. Widow Makers.

FISH FRY??? Well we usually cook them up on Friday or Saturday evenings. Had Catfish stew Sunday. A good crowd usually shows up.
