3 DAY YELLOW REPORT

[WAHOONBOX]

THE MAN IN THE MOON COULD BARELY CRACK A SMILE THROUGH THE MORNINGS RED/GREY CLOUDS....AND BEAUFORT INLET TIDE WAS FLOODING AGAINST THE SW WIND AND THE INLET CONFIDENTLY HANDED US OUR FIRST REAL ASS WHIPPING FOR THE DAY......YEP.....WE HAD BARLEY LEFT THE PORT AND IT'S KICK ASS TIME ALREADY! A REAL CONTUSION MAKER IT TWAS....3 TIMES I THOUGHT I MIGHT GO OVERBOARD WHILE CHANGING BAITS THAT DAY AND LUCKY FOR ME....I FELT LIKE I HAD NOT BEEN ON THE WATER IN FIVE YEARS...BEING TOSSED AROUND THE PIT LIKE A BEACH BALL

THAT WAS SATURDAY .....BUT FIRST LET'S TALK ABOUT FRIDAY'S FISHING.

A NEW HATCH OF MAHI MUST HAVE ENTERED THE SEAWORLD A COUPLE WEEKS AGO BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL AROUND 3-4 LBS FOR US THIS DAY...YES WE DID CATCH OUR 3 MAN LIMIT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY BUT WE PAID THE PRICE IN DOING SO...

CALLING A MERE 110#'s WORTH OF MAHI A DAY'S LIMIT ISN'T EXACTLY TROPHY CLASS FISHING BUT NONETHELESS OUR PARTIES DID TAKE HOME SOME DINE DINING.

FRIDAY WE HAD JAKE OVERBOARD FISHING POSSIBLY FOR THE LAST TIME IN NC WATERS BEFORE HEADING TO THE AFGHANISTAN HELL HOLE AND THEN THIS SATURDAY WE HAD ANTHONY NCJAWBREAKER.....HE MAY CHANGE HIS USERNAME TO ASSKICKER AFTER SATURDAYS BEATING IT WAS MY 60TH BIRTHDAY OFFSHORE BASH WHICH I NOW CALL MY OFFSHORE CRASH

I SWEAR SATURDAY WAS A GRADE-A *****....A CERTIFIED ***** KICKER OF A DAY.....I'M STILL SORE FROM THE CONSTANT TO & FRO AND BANGING ....

ENOUGH OF THE WEATHER....BUT WHERE HAVE ALL THE GAFFERS GONE? THAT WAS THE QUESTION SINCE WE HAD FISHED FIVE DAYS WITHOUT A TWENTY POUNDER IN THE BOX.


FINALLY, YES FINALLY THE YELLOW PIGS HAVE SHOWED UP ....WITH EIGHT 23-30 LBERS FINDING STEEL YESTERDAY....WE ALSO HAD 40 SLINGERS TO ADD TO DA BOX ....MOST OF WHICH DIED ON LIGHT TACKLE TROLLING (SKIRTS/PORK RINDS/DINK HOOK).....

SUNDAY AFTERNOON FISHING FOUND US FOLLOWING THE GOLDEN BRICK ROAD A BIT FARTHER OFFSHORE....LOTS OF FLYERS IN THE AIR & THE ACTION WAS TORRID AS HORDS OF MAHI ATTACKED EACH BAIT



ALSO,....A FEW BOATS CAUGHT BLUE MARLIN THIS WEEK....CONGRATS TO CAPITANO PETE ZOOK ENERGIZER AND SENSATION CEO DALE BRITT ON GETTING IT DONE!

As always it was a pleasure fishing with a notorious fish killer... It's not often a Mahi gets to live on that boat however we turned oh about 10 or so back for another day.... Yep I said turned back unharmed limited out by what around 1030.. Awesome day meat fishing...

Thats the way it has been north of you as well. We have had to pull off to find some better fish. They are there. The small dolphin look like a school of Piranhas coming after the baits!!

Even though the fish were small, my crew and I had a great time. It was rougher than hell though.

I was not feeling that well throughout the day which had me perplexed as I have never gotten seasick. Once I got home, the reason soon became obvious and was confirmed by ED visit. I had damn food poisoning from some crap I ate Friday afternoon.

Glad the full effects of it did not hit me while offshore.

Box, I am looking forward to more trips in the future.
