Location - Morehead City, North Carolina
Here is how it works:
Bite Me, Run Off and Fightin Lady have been booked for April 4th and April 5th, 2008.

We will have teams of Father and Kid. No age limit on the kid (or father!). Last year our youngest was 8 and oldest was 21. I know already that we have a 5yr old signed up for this year.

Three teams will fish a boat. I will draw names prior to the tournament to see who fishes what boat on Saturday and we will draw names at the Dinner on Saturday night to see what teams fish on what boat on Sunday.

Their will be a Dinner on Saturday Night location TBD. Menu to be determined but I am sure it will include Tuna, Wahoo and Burgers.

The Awards will be Trophies and some nice door prizes. We will award 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Tuna, Wahoo and Open Division. No Team can win more the 1 award. If we add more boats and kids we will add more awards. Awards again will be provided by Artists Vinnie Myers as well as others. We will have a quick awards ceremony on Saturday after fishing.

Cost – is $1,100 per team. This includes boat for 2 days, Dinner, Awards and T-shirt. Space is Guaranteed and secured with a 50% deposit. The Father/Kid Offshore Kick-off will benefit the participants who will have one hell of a good time!!!!

Last year we started with 3 boats and 9 teams. It quickly sold out and we had to add another 2 boats. We have boats on standby for when we sell out the first 3 boats.

We will have a special rate at one of the local Atlantic Beach Hotels for all visiting participants.

Their will be no rain/weather date make up. If the tournament is a blow-out their will be a refund on the charter portion. The awards will be door prized out to the participating teams.

Everyone who fished this last year knows what a great time it was for the "kids" as well as the Fathers. If your new to SFC or thought about going last year...........DO IT! The captains and crews are all first class. The friendships made will last a lifetime.

And if your lucky enough, maybe you will get to fish with the Box!

Hey Glenn - The spirit of competition is present but really it is just an excuse to watch the kids have a blast. We have rules but they mostly pertain to fun. Kids can draw straws or pick rods. It is up to your crew on that day. We have 1rst thru whatever is needed in three catergories. Wahoo, dolphin and tuna. Last year we had some pretty impressive catches in each division. First place dolphin was 32lbs, first place tuna was 60lb and I think wahoo was 52lbs. We also have open categories for King Macks or billfish if they happen to get captured. Any billfish will be released.

I've been told that one of the charters boats is even requesting a "flipper" category While federal law may prohibit this we will have the first annual Karl Bieberich Award which will award a special prize for the best picture of a porpoise.
