    2 WAHOO EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS

NO ONE ASK ME NOR NO ONE PAID ME TO SHARE THE FOLLOWING W2MW MESSAGE.

I BRING YOU THIS THREAD SIMPLY HOPING OTHERS WILL ENJOY WAHOO HUNTING AS MUCH AS I DO.

FORGIVE THEM BOTH FATHER , FOR THEY BOTH HAVE KILLED MANY TIMES. MY 2010 LURE Of CHOICE PICKS TO GO DOWN DEEP WITH MY AE SNIPER/OLD SALTY PLANER ROD ARE:

    BAHAMA LURE: CALLISTO 30
CANYON GEAR: WAHOO MACHINE BLACK HEAD/BLACK HAIR WITH CHART' WING STRIPE

SO THERE....YOU HAVE IT....NO EXCUSES FOR YOU ON YOUR NEXT TRIP

I/WE ARE VERY VERY PICKY ON OUR LURE CHOICE IN FRONT OF A BALLYHOO. VERY.......MORE TIMES THAN NOT WE USUALLY PREFACE OUR BALLY'S WITH A GOOD OL' FASHION HAND-TIED-WAX THREAD-SHORT HAIR-NO GLUE NEEDED SEA WITCH.....G E E Z U S H..... WITHOUT A DOUBT A SEA WITCH KILLS MORE CAROLINA MEATFISH THAN ANY OTHER LURE HANDS DOWN....

    BUT.....

WHEN IT COMES TO GOING DEEP TO FIND DA MEAT....WHEN IT COMES TO DROPPING DOWN THE OLD SALTY #16 PLOW BLADE....AND MY MY AE SNIPER ROD IS BECKONING FOR SOME DEEP ACTION AND DOES THAT GOT-HIM-ON-RODTIP BOBBLE...WHEN IT COMES TO A GOOD BAIT SILHOUETTE....YOU CAN BELIEVE ONE THING...I HAVE HEAVILY AND I MEAN HEAVENLY RELIED ON MR. CALLISTO ALONG WITH THE WAHOO MACHINE I CALL THE TARBABY

THE PROOF IS IN DA PUDDIN' I TELL YA! ...I MEAN DA BOX

SFC MEMBER CAPE FEAR AND HIS WAHOO

AND SFC MEMBER DO'IN IT's DAD:

    AND ON YET ANOTHER NOTE....

I JUST RECEIVED A PM FROM A FRIEND/MEMBER ....HE IS ASKING ME A QUESTION HERE ABOUT WAHOO FISHING. I HOPE HE DOESN'T MIND THE COPY/PASTE FROM HIM ...

Mornin' Marty !!!...we are going out Saturday to try and catch our very first wahoo...going out of Southport heading towards 100/400, Blackjack area...gonna run a green machine down the middle for the WWWB...then run ilanders/jags with ballyhoo for the main spread with a stretch 25 on the flatline port side and a ilander with a ballyhoo on the downrigger...colors are red/black, purple, black, blue, white and a pink/white...probably use some chuggers on the outriggers to make some noise...pulling everything around 6 mph...

Got any tips on what to look for as far as temp breaks?...or would you change anything I listed above...any and all advice is welcome...

    Thanks Bro...
    Xxxxxxxxx

WELL MR X..........LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR SPREAD FOR A MOMENT.....OR SHOULD I SAY THE RUN-OFF SPREAD.

IF I AM TARGETING WAHOO/SAILDOG....AND THAT IS THE TARGET RIGHT NOW...WITH AN OCCASIONAL BLACKFIN BITE.....I WANT 6 SEA WITCHES/MED BALLYHOO IN MY UP TOP SPREAD...RIGGERS-FLATLINES

THIS SAILDOG ON THE BL/WH PINK HEAD SEA WITCH (LOW PROFILE & SIMPLE) FROM THIS PAST TUESDAY'S TRIP IS EVIDENCED IN THE NEXT SET OF PICS:

OUR BRIDGEPOLE WILL SPORT EITHER A SEA WITCH/BALLY OR AN ILANDER JR/BALLYHOO 9 TIMES OUT OF 10

CURRENTLY, WE HAVE RELIED ON BLACK/PURPLE....RED/BLACK ...BLUE/BLACK...& LOS BRAVOS BLACK IS BLACK

MY FRIEND...MR X......MY ANSWER TO YOU TODAY IS THIS ...."KEEP IT SIMPLE".....KEEP YOUR SPREAD SIMPLE....BY DOING SO YOU HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF NAILING ALL SPECIES WHO MAY VISIT YOUR SPREAD.

AND AS FAR AS WHICH LOCATION FOR YOU TO FISH THIS COMING SATURDAY 90 MILES SOUTH OF MHC.....I WOULD STUDY THE SST'S ON RUTGER'S FOR YOUR TEMP BREAKS

I pull the Canyon gear head on my planner rod tied the same as yours Box I call it the "Green Hornet" Black head, black with a Chart racing stripe on each side. I swap it out after each bite with a Matsuma (sp) that I have tied in dark colors. So they each get equal time on the planner rod.

Those 2 lures on the planner have accounted for 60-70% of all Wahoo bites I've had this year. Out doing the other 6 rods / baits I pull on top by far.

Thanks for sharing some of the tactics that produce for you and Capt B.

Do you run a standard ballyhoo rig with a chin weight (1/2 ounce?) on your ilanders/jags or is the weight of the head enough...I assume your still pinning them and either rubberbanding or wiring them down...but you know what they say about assuming ...

Is that #7/#9 wire your using? I have #7 and #10

    Marty and Brain,

Thanks for making Joe's first trip offshore a great experience. Wish we could have made it out for fall wahoo fishing but, at least one of the Walker family was able to come out and go fishing Run Off style. Two nice wahoo and a sailfish I'd call that a day to remember. Nice photo's thanks for putting them on SFC. And to Cape Fear, glad you were able to go along and take a hoo. You guy's are GREAT. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the pics Marty

It was quite an experience fishing with three professionals in the pit and one on the bridge. The speed that y'all do work at is really cool to see. I cant wait to get back over and fish the Run-Off again.

Doin'It, it was great meeting and fishing with your dad. Hope they enjoyed the rest of their vacation.
