Has nothing to do with fishing...

Was talking to my neighbor this morning when she ask, "have I told you my opossum story?" which I had not heard.

She was having a big dinner party a while back and when she got to the back patio a big rough old opossum was not happy with her showing his teeth. A phone call was made and someone made quick work of the beast that had been injured and his teeth were messed up by a possible car incident.

After the animal had a proper burial she was taking the shovel back to the barn when something caught her eye. Swinging around and hitting the 2nd opossum in the head out of pure country girl reflex nocking the little guy for a loop.

Now she has a dinner party in a short amount of time and a half conscious opossum hanging in the backyard with little chance of a speedy recovery. Back to cleaning not having the courage to finish the guy off checking now and then to see if he had come to and wondered off.

Diner party on the way and still this guy is hanging around with little efforts of leaving on his own so she makes a last minute decision to finish him off.

This is where the story had me rolling and short on breath...

She was able to get the critter to the driveway where she lined him up and used her TOYOTA PRIUS to do the dirty work. Saying "this is what single women do in desperate times".
