    1st Tournament, 1st Place!

Fished the Got-Em-On Tournament out of Carolina Beach. Talk about a GREAT bunch of guys! Got to meet Tom, one of the directors, and I can't say enough great things about him. Does a ton of work for wounded soldiers and I think that's just awesome. Not to mention he's a firefighter! Great all around guy.

Fished with some friends and Jason(Jason B). The plan was to find bait and troll for kings. Well, considering that I'm awful at procuring live bait, that plan fell through pretty quick. We ended up heading off to our first spot to pull PP with cigars right around 6. Tried a few spots from 6 miles out to about 12 before we decided to give up on kings and fish for dolphin. We know a bit more about dolphin than we do about kings so we thought that would be a better rout for us. Turned out to be the right decision because not too long after we got out to the Schoolhouse we had a dolphin on! Nothing too huge, 10.65 lbs but she ended up being big enough to take first place in the Dolphin TWT! Caught her on a green/purple/red custom sea witch tied by none other than BOX himself and with the Hoo rigged by Jason B! Ran it behind a small bird just behind the prop wash and it got hammered about 1130.

Definitely had a great time on the water with friends! Hopefully before the next tournament I'll learn how to find and catch live bait so we'll have a bit more of a chance at the big money.

You've gone and done it now... Congrats on your first win - I'm sure the addiction hasn't had a chance to take hold yet

It's gonna be expensive - bigger boats, matched gear, team shirts, etc....

It feels good doesn't it? Congrats.

Thanks! I don't think I'll be getting into bigger boats or matched gear and shirts anytime too soon! Not unless I actually start winning the king division of the king tournaments!

Aw, Don't Get Too Big Headed Yet,

I think they call that "beginner's" luck Glad you got em'! I tried to call you the other day, guess we missed each other. We hammered the tuna. Be sure you let the "poor" folk's know when you're in Hatteras, I might let you ride with me if you behave. Frank

Nice job, we weighed a 21.80 and finished 30th. I don't know about up around carolina beach, but bait was EVERYWHERE from Holden to Little River. I watched the winner caught, and a 31 also right next to me We couldn't keep baits in the water fast enough, we were intentionally pulling hooks on small fish to try and get baits back out to catch a big one. Got up to 4 lines out 3 times and they only lasted about 10 minutes at the most.
