    #14

I will be coming down to MHC over Memorial Day...I'm sure along with many other people. I have a small boat and am extremely subject to what the weather dictates. Have any of the dolphin shown up around the 14 bouy yet. I have heard reports of good King action out there but really want some dolphin meat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Patients my frog, still over a week away. if you look at your SST chart ( you should find it under the weather section in the yellow header) you will see that in-between the 14 buoy and the 90' drop there is a nice break and the temperature is in the 70's. There should be some moving in this range, I have not fished this area yet but I think Ray Jr. has done some Grouper fishing and he may know. Send him a PM if we don't here from him on this thread soon.

I don't believe too many people that are heading offshore have stopped at the 14 bouy as yet. We're gonna need some more of that SW blow for the dolphin to heat up there hot & heavy. But you never know. If you're familiar with 14, then you know the spots and rocks to fish around there.

Otherwise, you can stay inshore and fish for cobia if you want bigger fish and can't make it off the beach. They're here and by next week hopefully they'll be close to being in full swing. Although I'm not sure what this cooler weather is gonna do to them...hope for the best.

    Dolphin near the 14

We stopped 4-5 miles south east of the 14 saturday on the way out. Had a real nice dolphin bite.

    Good luck.

If it is nice enough to get to the 14 then by all means keep going to the break. You won't be sorry. Your limiting yourself stopping short. Not to mention there are more places to get away from the crowd on the break as well.

Awesome stuff here.... Excuse my ignorance but how for past 14 is the break. Are you talking about the drop to 23 fathoms or so?
