Crew John and his better half Connie and of course myself. We left Crab Creek at 6:00pm and headed straight to the High Rise. We made 25 kts. in sloppy conditions. There were not many people out and I wasn't surprised at all. Water temp was 50.11 all the way there. Will cruising with the auto pilot, radar, and the sounder on. I notice we had huge bait marks from the channel all the way to the High Rise. I mean tons of it. At 6:45pm we put our first lines with eels the water. 4 lines were with no weight or bobber and 2 had 10oz of lead. We dropped the lead poles down to the bottom and cranked anywhere from 7 to 10 times to bring it of the bottom. Now it is sit back and wait. But that only took 2 minutes. We had 2 on the lead poles. Connie and John are on the fish. After some tug of war Connies fish broke the 50lb leader and Johns broke off around the prop. CRAP! So lines back in and a matter of minute fish on Connie is up again and this is coming to the net a fat 47". Number one in the box. As soon as we boated that fish number 2 is on and John is at the rod. After some tug of war number 2 in the box and it is 45". Damn we are stocked. Well we get situated and 5 minutes later it is my turn fish on. After some more tug of war we boated a 461/2" fish. We are limited but we had some eels and told the crew that these are some quality fish and I bet we could get our release citation if we hang a little longer. Well to make a long story short we all got our releases in short order, 441/2", 46", and a 461/2". We marked bait and fish the whole time we were there. It was amazing. This was on an outgoing tide as well. I think the west wind during the day helped the tide last longer than normal. But if you fish the CCBT enough you all know it has a mind of it's own when it comes to tide. I have to tell you this. The man was out at the pier and of course he wanted to know if I had any fish. I told take a look in here. He asked where they were caught and what we were using and said that's a fine catch and have a great evening. They were very nice even the big cop. Oh by the way John thought he lost my keys to the truck that took about 45 minutes to find. He was looking everywhere but in his sweatshirts front pouch. What a great crew and an awesome night. Back to the barn at 10:30pm. Jake from the Matador nice talking to you on the water. Sounds like you slayed them as well.
Sorry I didn't rotate the pix or size them. I'm a JACKASS
