Damn what a HOO
Damn what a HOO
WOW! What a beast!!!
Pretty work boys
Was out at 285 today. Didnt see any 'hoos but the king fishing was hot as a firecracker!!!
The only problem was that every FLW boat came from wrightsville to fish there for their tourney. It was a freaking parking lot of four engined, logo covered, uniform wearing, king fishing maniacs!!!
Nice fish.
Last year while deep dropping in 800ft. off Bimini in the Bahamas, I threw out a dead sardine on a spinner with no wire. All of a sudden, something hits it hard and takes off. After 30 minutes, I see the stripes.
47# wahoo on a Penn spinner. Unbelievable.
It's all about being at the right place at the right time. Go figure.
114 lb. is a big'un. There were also a few more wahoo caught in the same area of the AR285 during thae same period of time. a 90 lb, 80,lb and a few 40's and 50's. For some reason in late Spetember and early october the hoo's show up around the Ar285 as well as the 30 Minute Rock, the 1700 Rock and the East Rock. Most of the hoo's are caught by live bait king mackerel fishermen, basically because those oare the guys that are fishing in that area. I would imagine if there was more trolling going on that there would be more wahoo caught over there.

On one of the local sites I am on, one of the guys posted about his wahoo caught on a small spinning rod. Said they wore throwing ballyhoo chunks at some small mahi on a weedline, when they spotted 4 or 5 logs (giant wahoo). One of the guys (Newbie) pitched his chunk with no leader, just mono, at the hoo which nailed it, and proceeded to take line like the ballistic Missle it is. They chased it for over a mile and a half and actually landed it. I think it was around 80 pounds. Will try to find the link and post up!
WOW! That's a nice HOG!!!
thats a nice fish
bet that was a wild ride on king gear
