Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
11/17 O.I. YFT the hard way
Spent the night on the outerbanks to rise early and fish. Well we rose early with one of the crew late coming from VB. We waited but no big deal. We finally hit the bar at 0730 and set course to 120. The tuna hole it is. As we were heading out in 4 to 5' crap we catch the fleet heading a little south more towards the point. So we said WTF we will fallow. We put the spread out and come across and very nice bait and fish mark with NADA. So we circled the area about 5 times with NADA. We trolled around at the point for an hour or 2. Got a call from C-Note that they were at or near the 650 and catching right steady on a planner rod. So we headed for them on the troll. We passed several great marks along the way again with NADA to show. Once we got near we tried to set my planner down but the damn thing kept tripping. Go figure I brought a high speed planner not a shovel. So once we got to Conner and the boy's the were cool enough to lend me there #3 planner and down it goes. Now it is 1300 and still no fish. We came across what looked like 20 acres of 2 tones on bait and trolled through them. We did have a few short bites but that was it. At 1400 the the pink and black witch w/ meat get's whacked and the fight is on. After some give and take he finally comes to the steal 45# YFT in DA BOX. Get the spread back out and find the 2 tones again within a matter of minutes the short blue and white islander gets whacked and the fight is on. Then Kevin jiggs up another only to come unglued. Damn rubber hooks. This fish we have on is a nice fish. Eric does battle with this YFT for about 15 minutes or more. Finally I leader him and Kevin puts the steal to him a 60# + comes on board for an ice bath. We find the 2 tones again put the spread back out but it was getting late and wanted to cross the bar before it got dark. All in all a great freaking day on the water. We caught the YFT's in blended clear 68 degree water in 70 to 80 fathoms. You know the colors. Here are some pics. I want the thank my crew Kevin Bremmer, Eric and (Jackass) John DiLaura what a great time Thanks
PS The damn est thing look what both YFT's were eating.
