Headed offshore in search of some more snowy grouper saturday. Hit the fist spot and not too much happening so we moved to another and it was on. Jigs went to the bottom and immediately hooked up. First fish on board was a 39 pounder, second fish on board was 35. The two other fish hooked up seemed to be real nice fish too but the man in the grey suit had differnet ideas and the other two fish gone. That wass disappointing but we retied and restarted our drift and hook up to two more decent fish, one landed the other eaten again. We decided on one more drift for one more fish. Robert hooks up and gets the fish half way to the surface and you guessed it, sharked again but this time he was not letting go. Robert fought the pesky critter for the first 15 minutes and I finished the battle on the monster dusky. He was a solid 12-13 feet long and we estimated the weight at 400+. Got the shark all the way to the boat and it some how managed to have my assist hook lodged firmly right in the corner of the mouth. Shortly there after, he hit the road with my jig and assist hook still lodged on his mouth. After that it was time to more inshore a little ways. We stopped in 350 feet and caught a nice gag and a couple scamps and then moved inshore a bit more and caught a few reds and then the bite came to a complete stop. We hardly had a bite for the next two hours but i guess thats fishing. Ended the day with nine grouper and one giant shark. It was an awesome day on the water. Pics will be up in a day or two. Cheers!
