    hi brian lol

    :-)

he's a good bud of mine, eager to learn, and is really starting to get the hang of light tackle fishing.

each year i convince him to go lighter and lighter... he is gettin there :-)

HERE IS A PIC OF SHORT-ROUND HIMSELF!!!!!!!!! Holding up one of the blues that we get here in the late spring / early summer.. not a prized fish, but it breaks our cabin fever from sittin inside and catching nothing all winter around Emerald isle.. so here he is folks... SHORTTT-ROUNNDDD

    P.S

    HE LOVES THE NICKNAME SHORT-ROUND!

Keep your toes away from its mouth! Actually few things are easier than sharks on the beach... Get a rowable boat or raft... Row out with a couple bonitos , blues or whatever and drop them near the edge of an offshore sand bar. Closer to inlets if you can... 12' of #10-15 wire 10/0 cheap hooks and you are good to go. 9/0 with 80 was always my stndby but graduated to a 12/0 with 100-130 on it after being shown the spool by some bigger pigs...

    Welcome... You'll like it here...

we actually usually always fish right at the mouth of the old bogue inlet.

its good stuff. not alot of boat traffic . especially towards the afternoons in the fall. and lots of sharks.

got matt hooked on the beach thing last year hehe. we use the outgoing tide here to float our baits out to wherever our hearts desire.

That'll work too. Plenty of shiteaters in bogue... Down here they fron on us getting too close to the inlets but Jupiter inlet often gets swamped by the jaws boys... A few of them are cops so they don't get bothered so bad. The other inlets is private property bordering them and we get tossed out. Public beaches also say no even at night. Seems the tourism people get pissed when a big bull or t-head gets beached. Even though most guys push em back out to sea they sometimes are so weak the just was up down the line and come daylight the swimmers freak...

Some pelagics are having a hard go but since the finning crap stopped the numbers are leveling off. If they run short of shiteaters I know a few places they can get replacements

Deep c there was a guy that fished the island south of OC MD. with a fighting chair mounted on the boat hitch of his jeep and they would yak a bait out and pulled some quality shark time. LOL Welcome to SFC. Matt good luck with the shark and a 12/0 as suggested is very wise with weedwacker line for a leader to help with the bottom snags and cuts..!!
