New season, New fish!

Even though I'm fishing 5 days a week, I can't wait to get out in search of new fish. The past week was very cool as all the navy ships were in town including the SS Toledo, a nuclear navy Submarine. Captain John Schneider and his crew came out with me twice to pull on some fish. The first day they caught lots of nice Kingfish in the 25 pound class and fed almost the entire crew back at the sub. 2 days later they came aboard again and wanted some more action. We had a sporty day being a little rough and all but everything paid off as we scored a great looking Blackfin Tuna at over 30 pounds, the first one of the season.

We fished during the Air and Sea show which was a bit to rough for everyones comfort, but we still managed to hang in there for the entire trip and catch lots of Kingfish that kept cutting us off or pulling hooks at the boat. That's not that hard to do when your fishing 5-7 feet seas all morning. The weather is heating up for us and so is the fishing. Come on out and join me as we search for those big Blackfins and smoker size Kingfish and who knows what else could be swimming by. Alot of my weekends are booked for May but there are still plenty of midweek days available, preferably my favorite times to fish as you don't have the weekend crowd to scare the fish off. May is my favorite time of year, and if I could get out everyday I would during this month.

Till Next Tide,
Captain Cary Hanna
