BEAR LAKE: (December 29) Call the DWR recorded information line at 435-946-8501 for updated information on boat launching and fishing conditions. The peak of the cisco run is typically around the third weekend of January. Fishing for trout can pick up as cisco stage for the annual spawn.

BIRCH CREEK RESERVOIR: (December 29) Population surveys conducted this fall by the DWR indicated good, consistent growth rates for tiger and rainbow trout. The catch rates are rarely fast and furious, but the fish are fat and healthy.

BLACKSMITH FORK RIVER: (December 29) Access to the river continues to be good with light snow conditions.

BOUNTIFUL LAKE: (December 29) Conservation Office Brandon Baron reports the fishing is fair.

CAUSEY RESERVOIR: (December 29) Anglers report that fishing has been slow.

CUTLER RESERVOIR & MARSH: (December 29) Use extreme caution when accessing the ice.

EAST CANYON RESERVOIR & STATE PARK: (December 29) Volunteer Rick Johnson reports anglers were having some success catching rainbows in 15 feet of water using white paddle bugs tipped with gulp or mealworms. The south arm of the reservoir is snow covered with six-inch-thick white ice. There's a lot of open water on the north end. Very few anglers are out.

ECHO RESERVOIR: (December 29) Biologist Weston Pearce reports that people are accessing the ice in the middle of the reservoir. Anglers report good fishing for trout near the dam. One angler reported good fishing for fat rainbows in 35 feet of water, but the fish were suspended at eight feet.

FARMINGTON POND: (December 29) Vehicle access is closed for the winter.

HOLMES CREEK RESERVOIR: (December 29) Conservation Officer Brandon Baron observed one party of anglers over the weekend. Use caution as periods of warmer weather may cause changes in the ice conditions.

HYRUM RESERVOIR & STATE PARK: (December 29) Park Ranger Steve Bullock reports good ice on most of the reservoir. There are five to six inches around most edges. There's newer ice near the inlet. Fishing is good for rainbow trout.

JENSEN NATURE PARK POND: (December 29) Conservation Officer Brandon Baron reports that the pond is only partially frozen. Fishing success was spotty.

KAYSVILLE PONDS: (December 29) Conservation Officer Brandon Baron reports the ice is not safe. The anglers that have been fishing report doing well.

LITTLE CREEK RESERVOIR: (December 29) The ice is plenty thick and fish are concentrated in this small reservoir. Be prepared for cold, windy weather. Use standard ice jigs tipped with PowerBait.

LOGAN RIVER: (December 29) Flows are good but there are large slabs of unstable ice along the shores. Use caution.

LOST CREEK RESERVOIR: (December 29) Sergeant Keith Fullenkamp reports the reservoir is now 80 percent iced over.

MANTUA RESERVOIR: (December 29) Conservation Officer Mike Kinghorn reports fishing at Mantua has been very good for bluegill, perch and trout. The ice is around ten inches thick. Anglers seem to be having the best success on the east side by the knoll.

MIRROR LAKE: (December 29) Anglers report that fishing is good at Trial Lake. Access is by snowmobile. Use caution when fishing the lakes of the Uintas in winter.

NEWTON RESERVOIR: (December 29) Anglers report that fishing is slow at the reservoir.

OGDEN RIVER: (December 29) River flows are low and clear with almost no fishing activity during the week.

PINEVIEW RESERVOIR: (December 29) There is still some open water near the dam, but most of the reservoir is covered with ice. From the road the ice looks bad, but there are six inches of good ice at the boat docks. On December 28, two drilled holes in the narrows revealed three inches of solid ice. There are puddles of water atop the ice and if warmer weather persists, the conditions may change quickly. Use caution. Three anglers fishing on Wednesday, December 28, hadn't caught any fish. They said the fish were biting very lightly.

PORCUPINE RESERVOIR: (December 29) The water is still open with no ice forming.

ROCKPORT RESERVOIR: (December 29) Joseph Hamby reports the lake is covered entirely with ice. Use caution. Fishermen are doing well with traditional ice-fishing baits. The access has been good with the low snow levels. Don't forget the ice-fishing challenge for tagged fish. The tagged fish will be planted this week and the contest starts January 1 until March. Enjoy fishing at Rockport!

WEBER RIVER: (December 29) Biologist Paul Thompson reports flow releases were reduced from both Rockport and Echo dams this week, so stream flows throughout the Weber River should be conducive to good fishing. Fishing has been good with standard nymphs (hare's ears, pheasant tails, scuds and midges).

WILLARD BAY RESERVOIR: (December 29) Use caution when accessing the ice. Warmer weather may change the ice conditions.
