Headlines - Region 3
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking public comment on a proposal to acquire 1.5 acres of land along the Gallatin River in Logan to develop a fishing access site. The landowner has offered to donate the land, a half-mile north of I-90, to FWP. FWP envisions managing the site for day use only.

Currently there are eight fishing access sites managed by FWP along the Gallatin River, with one located on the East Gallatin, and the remaining seven on the West Gallatin. The proposed Logan site would provide the only public access to the Gallatin River between Gallatin Forks and Headwaters State Park.

Development issues will be addressed in a future environmental assessment that will be released for public comment. Typically fishing access sites are developed with facilities such as boats ramps and latrines, and with appropriate signage.

The draft environmental assessment is available in Bozeman at the FWP regional office (1400 S. 19 th Ave.), FWP’s Headquarters in Helena (1420 E. 6 th Ave.), or on FWP’s website at fwp.mt.gov under Recent Public Notices.

Comments on the Logan FAS environmental assessment will be accepted until 5 p.m. August 25, and may be emailed to tgarrett@mt.gov or mailed to:
