    Cichlid caught in Lake Ontario

First post why not make it interesting.

Caught this Giant cichlid while fishing in Zone 20 Hamilton Harbour.

Here is a short video of the fish.

As you pointed out. No doubt dumped by someone. They're ill tempered buggers and will kill everything else in a tank... I had a red devil I caught in my back yard and decided to keep it as a pet. Soon figured out why somebody else dumped it. Down here we have a lot of invasive species introduced. Warm enough here that some thrive. Iguanas, burmeese pythons and so on. In the water Tilapia have taken over a lot of prime bass and bluegill spots. Farther south the Peacock bass are growing in numbers. Piranahs though are deal breakers. When they get found they usually have to kill the whole pond to make sure they don't get started populating...
