Runnin down a dream

I have been thinking of the proper way to answer this question for a few days now. Being a Comm fishermen many would instantly assume that I do it for the money. Nope sorry gave that up a long time ago. "" Ya can't play this game for the money ya got to do it for the love of the game. "" Think about that , Long , cold hours of ass breaking , mind boggling , grulling work and Sleep deprivation. there is no real time clock that is punched in or punched out but some of us are on the clock. Some days the commute is thee most beautiful thing that many will ever see , other days the hits just keep on commin.

So why do I do what I do ???????

Long about 1973 there was a little chubby kid standing on a dock in Sea Isle waving good bye to his hero who was steaming out with his hero to do what they did catch fish. As he waved good bye he knew that he someday would be as good as both of them combined. As time passed hero's turned to memories and dreams turned into goals.

So Why do I do what I do ?????????

Why do I race the wind and chase the sun ??? The simplest way to put it is for the love of the game. Over the past 10 years the Enviro movement has taken not only that little chubby 4 year old dreams away, But has almost destroyed one of the last independent industries in this country and even the world. Our leaders have allowed themselves to be mis led or have voted favoring popularity not by the facts at hand.

Will this now 41 year old finish his time on the earth a fishermen ??? Hopefully !!!!! One thing is for sure I'm not gonna stop fighting for what I believe is right , I'm not gonna let that chubby 4 year olds dreams get smashed by people that do more damage to the environment in one year then I will ever in 20 lives.

Please tell me what you think the effect on a areas fish are when this much bait is hauled out.
Also do they get the quota they get because everyone has the right in your field to get this much?
Do you live under the same rules as commercial fishermen?

Yes the Omega fleet has a quota in which they have stayed under since the quota has been set.

The gent that said striped bass had sores on them because there is a lack of bunker is a lair. That topic was addressed at the ASMFC Feb 4th meeting in which that gent was in attendance. The lesion's are caused by parasites. My opinion mother natures way of thinning the heard. On a sadder note there were two groups who are hell bent and determined to end Comm fishing. They both swore up and down that over fishing was occurring. Never once did they mention Run Off from up stream. The lawn that they were standing on looked green as hell to me. Hell their killin fish and looking good well doing it. I call those types Hypocrites !!!!!
